Band Practice

The Story

Music has always been a part of my life; and consequently, a reoccurring theme for my artwork. This pencil rendering depicts three young ranch hands stealing a little time to work up some new tunes for the upcoming Saturday dance in town.

Having played for an untold number of dances myself, I can relate to the sounds and the feelings of the players on this wagon. I used my two nephews as models. I am the accordion player in the middle.
